I grew up eating sweet potatoes, but we really only had it in Trinidadian shark soup or chicken soup when we were sick. When I say shark soup, I mean shark soup and not the stupid shark fin soup the Chinese eat. I mean really I just don’t get the Chinese sometimes, as they throw away the meat of the shark and only eat the fin.

Anyways, it seems that Japanese just loves Sweet potatoes, as they have it in everything and its everywhere. Don’t get me wrong, I like it but I just did not grow up with have sweet potatoes in as my dessert.

My wife boils the sweet potatoes in some kind of mixture; all I know is that she uses good maple syrup to make it. Man, my son has the good life.
